Amphitheater Water Fountain & Bottle Filling Station
On July 16, 2026, we opened a new water fountain and bottle filler near the Amphitheater restrooms. This will provide accessible water during performances and events on the amphitheater lawn and to park goers alike. Our Capital Projects committee has been working on this project for over a year in consultation with Seattle Parks and Recreation and is excited to have it completed as summer activities pick up in the park this July.
The original budget for the project was $140,000; total cost not yet final but likely $200,000+, due to challenges finding interested contractors for the project and unexpected complexity discovered during construction. This project was made possible by our community’s generous donations to Volunteer Park Trust, especially an anonymous estate gift from a family who loved their time in Volunteer Park.
The new water fountain and bottle filler is just across from the Amphitheater restrooms on the south side of the structure. The model of fountain was specified by Seattle Parks and Recreation and approved by the Landmarks commission to be placed in this location.
